He likely should have expected as much, returning back to find his things strewn out about the front lawn of the clinic. But it does nothing more than to sour the mood he’s already got tilting further and further away in the spiral within him. He’d made a mistake, given in, and with it — well, this.
Luckily for him, his most precious things remained back at the bar, underneath it in the Advocates for storing. But there were a few things here he kept close — the flooded brass knuckles gifted to him among his clothes and the like. So when he gets there, he picks up the important things, moving to the door to open it, only to find 1) it’s locked, and 2) there’s a note pinned to the front.
His stomach drops when he reads the inside, leaving the rest of the unnecessary, not so important things all out on the front lawn, before heading to his bar, maybe in time enough to stop it.
