His implications had her flush. For all that her language had turned coarse with the seething emotions, Maea had absolutely no experience with sleeping around. It had always seemed very immoral to her, something reckless and stupid that could only lead to heartache - she still couldn't fathom the idea of physical intimacy without emotional attachment - and if Loren wanted anything to needle her with, he had a huge target right there. But I don't suppose it matters to you either way, as you did not want me around from the beginning. Congratulations; you get what you wanted. "
She began to turn away, throat burning, intending to leave him there with his boozee and his birds. And nevermind that they were both long gone - it seemed a wonderful irony.
