Good Times

ALISTAIR Alistair leapt. The rush of air pushed through his body as his eyes shut. The roar and rush of the fall wrapping all his senses. There was a calm to this. As if he knew he'd be ok. The initial hesitation left behind up on the bridge. To survive something like this...that would be something he'd always remember. So why waste it closing his eyes. Suddenly his eyes shot open as the fog below rapidly approached. He pressed his body like a missle to pick up speed and screamed with the exhilaration of it all as he shot into the unknown below. He couldn't tell how close he was to the end, just that the velocity begun to slow down when in the fog. He could feel a change in positioning just before his feet gradually touched the ground. It was wet, like a shallow creak which at one time might have been mighty. Instead the sounds of the trickling water appeared calm. His eyes focusing from the fall, surveyed the area to see it appear rather barren and plain. Mostly stone and weathered rocks with a pathway leading up along the side. This was all fine and good until Alistair realized what he had done and glanced up. Suddenly...He began to laugh. Laugh complete and full til it pained his muscles from laughing as hard and as long as he had. He collapsed onto the ground, onto his rear as his clothes sprawled on the floor, and simply...laughed... Alistair, who had taken every chance to be safe and protected...leapt off a bridge for the purpose of simply proving he was a man of his word. Blind faith...and it was rewarded. Indeed all he could do, was laugh to his heart's content. Rexanna
