In truth, she was skeptical of her own thoughts, but being trapped in this place with nothing even hinting at familiarity, she had begun to lose control of her own impulses, the fiercely logical side of her mind succumbing to her emotional curiosities. ”Interesting you would find my naivety disappointing,” she nearly hissed at him. ”It worked in my favor when it came to interacting with a man most in Northaven saw as a demon.” Archebold was far from well-liked in Northaven, yet her naivety had allowed her to grow closer to him than she had with anyone else before. Regardless of what he thought, regardless of what any one of them thought, they had chosen to be a part of this little task. All of them knew about the spire demon, so all of them were aware of the risks. Cel wasn’t sure why she was okay with the risks, but she needed something to make her feel alive again.
