Would it be a bombardment? Maea hadn't thought of it that way, but... perhaps Melita was right. It might be a foolish, stupid thing to do. Might do more harm than good, might give Sunjata more to consider, more headaches than he already had.
Or... it might be something to lighten a dark patch of his life. Offer support and aid when he thought himself deserving of none. Take his mind off the mistakes of his past, and see that there were things he had done right too.
But it all came down to him, in the end... So Maea nodded, accepting the advice gratefully. "I will do that, then," she said, easily agreeing to the offered words. Not doubting that this girl knew Sunjata better than her, as Maea had only a season of interaction with him to fall back on. Did he even appreciate surprises?
"I know. But sometimes hope is all you have, especially while waiting for someone else to figure out if you have a place in their life." Maea tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, and shrugged lightly. "I think it's worth the risk of pain... so I will wait, and hope, and see what happens."
Calling Shii back from the snap-toothed gourd, Maea tried to meet Melita's gaze. "If he says he wants the celebration... do you want to come?" Back to the main question. Maea thought the niece's presence should be obvious, since she was kin, but thought it best not to take anything for granted.
