Rance wasn’t in a rush to leave his room at VlamVloed, at least not yet. But he liked Jigano and everything the Loreseekers stood for, even if he was still learning what that was. So even though he didn’t think he’d be moving into one of these rooms, he was certainly willing to help out. It came with the added bonus of being able to meet other Loreseekers and those that they trusted. Rance still knew precious little about the people who were native to Caido and their customs, let alone any that might have come about because of Outlanders being tossed into the mix.
“Rance. Grenier,” he introduced himself with a nod to the group, committing to memory both faces and names. Working with strangers was par for the course for most of the construction work Rance had done. Of course, since everything seemed like it would be familiar and easy, that was when the snarling vegetables decided to intrude on the peace, right after the youngest of their number, Quanil, made it through to the rooms. Rance gave them a snarl of his own, holding back as the other men strode forward. Soon enough ‘name’ and ‘face’ were soon joined by a listing for ‘magic’ as each took care of the gourds in their own way, for the most part pushing them aside as if they were an annoyance. It gave Rance time to note how high the damned things could jump, on top of providing him with a much more varied display of magic than he’d seen used yet. The summoned wolves, the duplicate, the crackling aura… Rance had none of those.
Taking advantage of the open space, Rance transformed into a raven and flew up to the second floor, and thus avoided the fucking flying, angry plant-life all together. He landed and shifted back into human form in front of room two, making a rude gesture at the gourds as soon as he had hands to do so.
