The stone Remi held in his hands was beautifully polished, reflecting the sun's light brilliantly as it was tossed into the pool. There was a moment of weightlessness at the height of its arc where time seemed to slow and the alchemist made his wish. Indecision was rife within his chest, and as the stone splashed into the water, Remi couldn't quite say whether or not he wanted his wish to be granted. It seemed easier to let fate simply decide; it had decided so many other things in his life after all. Or so it seemed.
Watching as the ripples slowly faded away, the alchemist narrowed his eyes with a weary sort of sigh before raking both hands through his hair. The breeze against his bare arms was brisk, and Remi (perhaps stubbornly), resisted the urge to shiver.
