Her heart thundered in her chest, and a little niggling of weakness in the back of her mind begged her to simply melt into it, to enjoy the physical affection while it lasted.

Pulling back Phoebe quickly looked away, cheeks bright red but expression full of sadness. "I-I'm sorry, Elias but I can't accept the gift and I really ought to be going." she stuttered, gathering her things as quickly as she could.
