The mention that Letha had arrived with no memories was strange though, something he hadn't heard of happening to anyone else. "Maybe it's just the shock of being here, and it's temporary. Stranger things happen under stress." Though her next words brought a wide smirk to his face, gaze falling back to her for a long moment. "Course I'm right."
Letha's hand looping around his arm surprised him some, the woman not seeming like the touchy feely sort, but if she wasn't going to make mention of it, neither would he. Instead, he focused on her question, sucking his teeth as he thought about how to respond. "It's... a whole week of pitch blackness. At least in the grounds. You shelter in place and hope that nothing gets in, and nothing happens, so you don't have to go out." Some of the light edge of his voice is lost, the subject too serious for that ease. "Last year, the guildhall where people were staying burned down, because something got in. S'why I'm staying here. From what I've heard, it's still dark, but there's no monsters."
