The brighter idea would’ve been to not stay at all; but maybe all of them were deliberately hard-headed about the notions, about traditions, about things they thought they knew and understood. His paper filled with new scrawls, details, sketches, and outlines, he lifted his head, his eyes, back to her chimes, a snort threatening to unravel from his chest. Instead, he stood, pocketing the list, saving it for future excursions and duties.
