Remi was really becoming an expert at delivering tough blows in a few words. Sam tried to pretend he wasn't hurt, but there was a little sting in his chest. Really, he still wasn't sure he believed it; so Remi didn't want to be there for people, but the Alchemist had always been so kind and giving before - that didn't just go away this quickly.He probably needed time, Sam thought.
"Well. Maybe we could still be casual...people who know each other and talk, then?" He asked, with a hint of humour in his tone. "What about other people you used to be close to? Phoebe or Amalia, Deimos? I saw you at their wedding reception." That event had been a lot of awkward standing in corners silently for him, but he'd seen some of the more sociable among them having a good time. "Have you told them this?"
