Jack, in only a few lines of response, screwed up all of Sam's party confidence and expertly tossed it into the ocean. For a moment he just froze, hand still between them and feet not moving no much how he begged them to run him off the beach, into the water if necessary, just anywhere but where he currently was.
"..Right. Um. Sorry, I.." Mumbling so Jack probably wouldn't be able to tell what he was actually saying, Sam awkwardly wandered off, not going to watch any of the women: it would only bore him anyhow, and that was a whole social conundrum in itself. What was the polite way to react to a dance? Clap? Was he meant to look at their butts? Was it ruder if he did or not?
Thankfully when he turned around he saw Zeph, someone he knew and liked, which was a rare occurrence for this party. Sam began to walk towards his housemate before he even considered the men around him, and by the time he was there it was too late to stop. Having 'learnt' from his earlier encounter he casually nodded his head and tried to lean back with his hands in his pockets. "..H...Hey."
