It was the stangest feeling, going from the snows of the Greatwood to the comparatively warm sands of Torchline, and as morning beamed over the Arclight Ocean, Vai found herself breathing it in. She stood at the edge of the shore, her boots abandoned in the sand nearby, letting the small waves wash over her toes before the tide sucked the water back out again. Gods but it had been so long since this. So long since the world was more than a treeline, since the sky was so wide and so effortlessly blue.
