She was more than ready to be shot down, to be pressed back for being too eager, but to have gotten to the point where she could be denied was still more than Hester had ever expected.

Even the ruined building was a balm compared to the frigid winds of outside, but something hot and mulled would only heighten the effect, only warm her up faster. "Please." She's torn between the urge to help, to start opening cupboards and closets and whatever else was around in, and the urge to stay still, to not speak until spoken to, to not move until she was sure it was alright.
