True, she was not from his country, but barriers like that seemed almost pointless now that he was the lone representative of a whole planet. He was charmed by her smile (how could he not be? She smiled at him as if he were her saviour, the only man in the world in that moment) and tried to comfortingly pat her fingers on his arm. Stepping over the last of the ruins, a large pillar fallen half into the ground, he held out a hand to help her over and steady her. "You are welcome. I always have a helping hand for the beautiful and the well-meaning. It appears you are both, and in the same situation I was only some months ago." He had on his most charming voice, his most daring smile. "Tell me, what is your work, cara?" He asked, hoping that she would say something he could use to help place her effectively in the town, give her the right kind of support.
