Or maybe he wouldn’t, because the force of the sudden headbutt was enough to send him snapping back against the crates, a grunt of pain leaving him. It didn’t knock Jack out, but the captain did not deal well with head injuries, and the resulting pain left him dazed and sick, the world slipping dangerously to one side whenever he tried to focus.
All of that would give Nate plenty of opportunity to get away, because Jack wasn’t going to be getting up from this for a while. More than that, this in particular would likely have some weird and wonderful repercussions at a later time, too. Telepathy fail.
