The first night of the week had been spent amongst the happy people of Torchline; watching them drink and cavort and flirt and yes - even one or two pairs fucking. She needed some gaiety before sending herself back into the hell hole that is the Hollowed Ground during LongNight. She needed to remember that there was a world outside that bubble, and she needed to not beat herself up for being unable to fight the Monsters this year.
Ah, but even the best laid plans of mice and men so often go awry.
Carrying a small bag of necessities, including her restraints and the shadow-cloak, Wessex bids goodbye to Loki, telling her to go find Haai and that she’ll be back soon. The little dragonling knows something is wrong, but no matter how much she croons or pesters, the Wraith will not say. Only that she loves the little brat and she’ll be back soon.
Then the Wraith visualizes the altar in the Temple and hopes that no one’s made their bed where she intends to appear, blinking out of sight before her companion’s eyes and appearing in the Temple proper almost immediately after. Taking a minute to apologize to the nearest person for startling them, the Wraith takes a couple of steps into an empty space and waits to flag down someone familiar so they can tell her what’s happened in the last day and a half.
