The infirmary was certainly useful to the people in this new world, but there was a speciality that was still much needed - especially as the new community began to grow. Midwives, you see, were not just experts in the needs of expecting and laboring mothers; they were experts in all things women's health. Various diseases, dysfunctions, and concerns around conception, fertility, and yes, even sex fell under their watchful eye. But they needed a safe and comforting place to practice their craft, and Phoebe always thought that infirmaries were so...cold for the delicate and emotional work she did. So she was setting up her own clinic on the first floor of the home she had set up. It was a lot of work for one person though. Phoebe didn't have many friends or acquaintances, but she hoped that perhaps some would stop by to lend a hand.
