Her baby brother was an adult. Naavi, the eldest Sen, had raised the boy and of course had encouraged the rest of their family to celebrate. He was the baby; the baby of the entire group and... that meant, when he got home tonight from wherever he had been, he'd be met with a surprise party.
They didn't even live in the same house, not all of them, not at the same time. Though their homes were close and connected, easy to get to and fro. When the door to the house opened, a shout of "SURPRISE!" entered the air, and somebody let a flurry of butterflies loose towards the boy.
Naavi fluttered in place, grinning proudly. "You're finally an adult. How's it feel?" Of course, the family was celebrating the day Keyes had been brought to them; not his actual day of birth. That day meant very little to them.
