It’s been Nate that’s charged in head first with the bluntness required to get what he wants, and it’s always been something he’d admired. And as for Hotaru? He leans back a bit then, giving them a moment with amusement glimmering in his gaze, leaning in to nuzzle his head alongside Nate’s, nose brushing against Hotaru’s cheek. A quiet rumble from Nate as his head is moved somewhere near Hotaru’s shoulder, and Sunjata finds himself focusing on Hotaru a bit more fully – pressing a soft kiss to her temple, tangled up in the pile with a heart thundering of love and everything fitting together right.
“You can be my shield.” He hums to her, a small wicked grin forming along his lips in response to surviving Deimos. But then his steel gaze is flickering over her face as he withdraws, a dark brow raised in agreement with Nate’s comment, waiting for the questions.
