Jack’s migraine had the good grace to hit, at least, once they were clear of the shroud of rain that covered Torchline. The Ark was off, in the water with the wind in her sails and the lap of waves against her hull. And fuck if Jack didn’t feel like this was home. And fuck if he wasn’t going to find more ways to get back at that Ascended fucker. The sun had broken through the clouds, and that had been it - where the grey skies had been manageable if uncomfortable, the light was like a knife in his eyes.
