He’s used to receiving piercing glares, ones aimed to strip him apart and leave nothing behind. Luckily for him, (or unluckily?) it reminds him of his father, an easy enough switch to ignore and pretend its not there when the information fully leaves his lips. Sunjata keeps his ground though, posture not changing in the slightest, head still held high as he focuses on Deimos and the way the General’s jaw clenches, the way there’s an inhale and an exhale, before a comment is made that Sunjata fully anticipates.
“I expect nothing less.” He offers easily, perhaps too easily, knowing what he was getting into when he tangled with the Valkyrie once more. But with Nate and him, he doesn’t imagine they’d hurt Hotaru – doesn’t imagine that they have it in themselves to do so. Not with the understanding of their trio, the relationship, how it would work with all of them and what they expected.
Something easy, something simple, something nice.
So he turns, then, when Deimos says he’ll come, a nod extended before he’s focusing on them behind the bar. “We’ll let you know when the date is set.” He rumbles before he’s gesturing for a drink – whatever Deimos wants, sent to the General, before glancing back over to the other man. “They’re running a bit behind. Can I get you anything in the meantime?” An offering extended, an olive branch, fully expecting Deimos to deny it but trying all the same.
