the shield of safrin
The encroaching storm boils in the sky, so familiar to a girl raised in a grey world and yet so entirely, importantly different. Coiled up around herself though she is Amalia feels strangely safe, unusually at ease in the presence of this stranger- Finn. Unknown, without any expectations placed upon her, or so the Shield believes. It is soothing to find solace in anonymity.
It is good she does not yet know how wrong she is.
"It's... Home." Dark eyes drift again to the far horizon, the designation one she's both reluctant to give and yet fiercely protective of. "I grew up there, under the barrier. Without the Old Gods. When it came down..."

I never knew how beautiful the world could truly be."
