"Chulane," he said with a smile as Arialla offered her name and her help. "And thanks," he said, watching the young woman closely, attempting to repeat her actions with little success. It was not a reflection of her teachings, but rather a combination of Chuy being terrible at arts and crafts in general (his notes rarely had drawings, his diagrams purely scientific, without extra flourish or decoration).
He grinned at Wessex, honestly pleased to see her. "And yet you return now, no ropes to be seen," he observed wryly. "Good to see you too, Wessex." And he was, appreciating the information she had given him when he was still so new to this world (hell, he still felt like a newbie), appreciating the insight into the Ascended and even bits of history of the realm he otherwise might not have learned. He was fascinated when her shadow seemed to bend and even help, pausing to look at how they worked. He accepted the aid she offered, more out of curiosity than actual need - though it would be for naught, for even with her help, he was utterly useless at the task.
He couldn't help but chuckle to himself as the he tried to weave the bendy strands together, finding them completely unwillingly to stay together. "Ah, Chief of Agriculture I may be, Chief of Flower Crowns? Not so much." Hands spread before him as yet another attempt fell to pieces on the work table before them.
He wouldn't give up so easily though, choosing to remain at the flower crown making station a bit longer, to have another attempt, before calling in a defeat. With renewed focus, he tried again, picking up the pieces and carefully weaving them together, not focussing so much on the design until he got the construction well sorted - once he had a few good foundations, he would decorate them better.
