I dunno, a cat?” The last word trails off, movement behind Milo catching Nate’s eye, his hand coming up to steady the the other shoulder while he brushes past, darting after the cat.
The timing and the grin both have him convinced this is some kind of trick, but he can’t risk missing out if it isn’t. He needs that blood.
