Her comment of an arrow in the neck sparks the edge of a smile on his face. “Would prefer it.” He mumbles, trying to keep the medicine under his tongue, but doing his best to also try and calm himself and his racing heart.
A hiss leaves him as her hand presses against his chest, as her other laces with his right hand. And he feels her magic, a warmth that settles within him that courses through him, causing his lungs to hitch a breath, body trembling and twitching, hand in hers shaking and squeezing to ground himself too. The other hand searches for something else to hold onto, the edge of a bed, the blanket. His head tilts back, a sad sound of pain leaving from his lips as the magic works through him, fighting back the racing heart, tears slipping from the edges of his shut eyes.
It’s his left hand, for the moment, flickers and trembles, uncontrollably twitching and trembling where it’s clutched the side of the bed.
