But he can’t fathom the idea of Nate being gone. He can’t compute it, can’t imagine it.

He doesn’t know what else to ask, what else he can do in this sorry and sick state he’s in other than to mull it over and either get worse or better. So he shifts, sitting on the window sill, to the shift she’s given him first with wings of navy blue.
Casting one last glance to Safrin, a pulse of appreciation and love, even if the topics were hard, he slips out the window of the lighthouse and spreads his wings wide, banking on a gust of wind to head home.
