Loren's denial enraged Bastien, more than was reasonable, but his delirious mind wanted to latch onto something to hate, to fight against. The revelation that Rexanna was dead came to him fresh every hour or so and it was fueling an emotional turmoil in him that could lead to an explosion soon. "You don't know that. What do you know?" Bastien wanted to snipe back with some comment, but he couldn't recall anything Loren had done. Still, he kept his angered gaze consistent, glaring at the Healer as if he were guilty of a great crime.
"The Grounds are not empty." He insisted, a growl in his voice as Bastien began to crawl over to Loren. "There are people here who have suffered a great deal. They thrive. They continue. They are not nothing. You-- you--" His mind continuously letting go of threads of thought, the rest of Bastien's speech was a murmured mess. The whole time he mumbled it he kept dragging himself forwards, reaching out for Loren.
