REMI
the alchemist
What good are hands
if there's nothing that they hold
It would likely be one of the last things he did as Governor. Responsibility and leadership hadn't given Remi the type of motivation or focus that he thought it would. And, having enough respect for Torchline to want more for her than that, he would give the title to someone else.

But not during a crisis.

So word is sent around that all are to convene on the beaches to discuss the illness many have, and to offer a temporary cure for it in the meanwhile. With the barrels of water brought back from the Climb, there is more than enough to give the infected a one-week reprieve; hopefully, two, if Ronin's math is right. Standing comfortably with his back to the ocean, the alchemist nods to those who arrive, gesturing for him to sit or stand as they wish. When the majority have arrived and the meeting-time has passed, Remi speaks:

"For those of us who are sick...enjoy your week of sanity." Remi looks to Sunjata with a grin, before his eyes dart to the other Torchers who had also been infected. "It hasn't been long enough to know if drinking the water after the week will give you another week, so...keep that in mind and make arrangements if you need to." To be tied down in bed, as in his case.

"The water if from Frey's Breath, a hot springs deep underground in the Climb. Morgan, Warden of Halo has allowed us to trek across the tundra to enter. It's dangerous and cold, so if you do decide to go to replenish your water, dress and prepare accordingly. While we were there we found..." Reaching into a pocket, Remi produces a dazzling lily with deep veins of turquoise running through. "It makes me think of when Vi brought us roses to plant to help with the blight, though these came with no instructions...but...perhaps keep an eye out for them, as they don't appear to be all that common."

With a glance toward Samuel and Nate, the alchemist pulls in a breath and offers them a tight-lipped smile. "We have no way of knowing what the water will do to you..if anything at all. But...we also don't know that it won't be harmful." He says in a low and solemn voice, looking to Vervain and Phoebe as their healers, for more insight.

Falling silent, Remi opens up the floor for anyone else with new information to share it.

Knowledge gained from coming to this meeting:

1. Water from Frey's Breath provides a temporary cure, though it isn't clear if doubling doses, or drinking it forever will stave off the infection
2. Lillies sprouted in the Hot Springs, seemingly at random. We don't know what they do
3. We don't know what the effects of the water are on the ascended. a run
And what good are hearts
if you bury them all alone?
Code blatently stolen from queen of codes, Sky!
Speaks with a thick Italian accent.
Force and magic can be used against Remi without permission.
