JUNIPER
you think i'm happy because i'm smiling,
but it's the easiest thing to do
Juniper's mouth quirked ever so slightly at the word "unfairly." She didn't blame the Warden for wanting to reserve the right to judge whether the Fae deserved any conflict they drew -- whether they had provoked it. By, say, dismembering an Ascended and sending his body to the different lands. But the Ascended had most certainly started this fight, and that murder had not been sanctioned by the Fae's leaders, as Juniper would happily tell anyone who asked. but it's the easiest thing to do
Well, now it was time to get to the point, wasn't it? "The Ascended invaded our home, murdered our goddess, and slaughtered her protectors." Juniper couldn't keep all of the righteous outrage out of her voice -- she didn't even try. But she kept it controlled, reasonable. "We would see those who attacked us held accountable for their actions."
if you looked a little closer,
you'd find my eyes aren't smiling too.
