The Wildwood had worked its magic and made a clearing which parted to show the sky. As the sun set, stars began to sparkle above. Lights had been strung in the trees and tables were laden down food and drink of all kinds. Partygoers were milling about, and most of them were exchanging presents of one kind or another. Music drifted through the air as bards and musicians of all sorts raised their instruments and their voices.
Although it had pained her, Alina had informed non-Fae—all but the Ascended and the residents of the Hollowed Ground, though word had spread to them—that the gift giving was proceeding as planned. She herself had a small package tucked into her belt pouch. However, she was not partaking in the revelry just yet. Instead, she perched in a tree on the outskirts, keeping a watchful eye on the proceedings.
