On Broken Ground

Bandits tended not to bother the bard - or at least, never more than once. In Caido, at least, he'd been lucky enough not to be accosted yet, though he'd heard of others being less lucky. The Attuned was normally more on his guard, but he had a bad habit of letting his research distract him, and his focus on the task at hand could occasionally make his surroundings fade away.

At last he noticed the very loud and obvious clearing of a throat, and he blinked and straightened slowly, turning to look at the man who approached him through the crisp snow. He wasn't particularly worried - if someone had wanted to ambush him they would have attacked without warning - but he was curious, especially at how careful the other man was being. The lorekeeper had a slender, swept-hilt rapier at his side but he didn't both to reach for it as the stranger hailed him with apparent good will.

Jigano was still cautious, of course, but it was certainly an improvement on how the assassin had accosted him!

"Not at all, friend. Just doing a bit of research on the barrier." He tilted his head, tucking his marking stick behind an ear as he took in Edden's appearance. "I'm Jigano, bard at the Rathskeller and lorekeeper-at-large, though mostly of the Atheneum these days. What brings you out this way, mister...?" One white brow rose in invitation to the stranger's name.
