All manner of moans leave Nate, something white hot rattling around inside of him. He wants to surge in, to take advantage of the way Sunjata tips back, but he can’t seem to make himself move, can’t fight off the shaking. The warm pressure of the attuned’s wings help to ground him, Nate tight grip slowly loosening.
Even if there weren’t arms around him, fingers in his hair, Nate wouldn’t be moving anywhere but closer to his husband. There’s no breath to catch, but still his chest heaves, his own hand following Sunjata’s head as he leans in. Much as he would like to linger in this moment forever, the leftover trembling fades before long, in what seems like no time at all. Still, his body recovering doesn’t mean Nate’s able to form words, able to open work his tongue.
He wants to say that was amazing. The most intense thing he’s felt in far too long. He wants to say I’m glad I woke you. What leaves him instead is I love you. but it holds all the same meanings, especially with the warm, slow wave of contentment that accompanies it. Nate is melted in against his lover, a wide smile spreading over his face as his eyes slip closed. I wish... we’d met earlier.
