There’s a multitude of things Sunjata thinks of but can’t form the words or thoughts for it. Not as he remains close to Nate, arms and wings wrapping tightly around his husband, riding out the shocks through his system, trying desperately to catch his breath, the storm outside long forgotten in the whirlwind of kisses, love, and sweat. All he can do is pant against Nate’s skin, melt into the touches as Nate loosens his grip.
There’s so much he wants to say too, pleased and glad that his husband’s gotten his eye back, that the Ascended had come straight home drenched in the storm and had chosen to wake him from the terror of the nightmares alone so that he didn’t have to be alone as the storm raged on outside. His head tilts slightly, pressing his forehead against Nate’s neck, lashes brushing against Nate’s skin as he closes his steel gaze, his heart pounding through his ears. I love you too. He begins, unable to form the words physically. He tries, though, tongue swiping against the puffed bite marks on his lower lip.
His hands roam again through Nate’s hair, slowly and languidly, tilting his head up so he might brush a kiss against the Ascended’s neck. I wish we did too. He agrees, a soft murmur mentally, before he manages to clear his throat, raw and hoarse as it is. He pulls his head back, both arms lifting so he’d be able to cradle Nate’s head in both hands, thumbs brushing against sharp cheekbones, the wings wrapped around tucking into themselves to give Nate something to rest back against. “Regardless, I’m so glad to have you now.” He manages through his raw throat, sweat beading down from his temple, down the scar on his neck and melding with a bit of blood and fluid, the blue glow to his throat long since disappeared. "I didn't... Give you too much, did I?" He asks after a moment, the hand with the lightning scars flexing briefly from where he cradles Nate's head, attempting to search that brand new grey and blue eye for the answer.
