The figure flickers and disappears and something clenches in Sunjata’s throat, a tightness. Maybe she didn’t want to be tied down? Maybe she did get cold feet and ran off? It’s hard to say. All Sunjata knows is that she doesn’t come to the call and when he continues to rush forward he loses Nate in a small trench of water so it seems. So his steps slow, stilling in the grasses a bit away from Nate, watching the figure disappear before his eyes, when he finally turns back to Nate with confusion across his brow. “I’m positive it was.” He rumbles, debating between flying up and scouting more or returning to Nate.
But in the end he always picks Nate.
So he turns back, away from the space the figure had disappeared, moving toward his husband as he approaches him with a hand outstretched to pull the Ascended up. “Maybe she just didn’t want to talk.” He suggests, quietly, interlacing his fingers with Nate’s to move back toward the point where Pemota and Haai still play. “Lets go back and see that space again, huh?” He asks, trying to offer a small smile toward Nate, even if his emotions are suddenly now tumultuous at best. The space is figured out, marked with a small makeshift flag and an X of sorts etched into the space with a bit of charcoal and ash, a marker so they wouldn’t lose it when they return to it.
And after that, it’s simply just brainstorming the plan, the wings of the building and what would go inside them, what kind of protections the home would have within it, how gaudy Sunjata and Nate could make it without being overbearing or memory inducing.
