I came for your stories, I stayed for your beauty.
Peeking his head out from below the water Tenor spied on the mouth breathers along the dock. Boring. Boring. Still boring. He thought to himself as he watched people pass by. He wanted something exciting to happen, or to meet someone exciting. Recently everyone was off dealing with some sickness. Tenor wasn't entirely sure what the sickness was, he'd just heard through the grapevine that the mouth breathers had bigger things to deal with than listening to him sing.

Tenor had hoped that the sickness was over. That the people of the Ahi Coast would return home, and he could learn more about the real world. Seeing no one of interest, the mermaid ducked back under the water. He swam further down the port. There had to be someone worth talking to.

Things were just so boring below the sea. Nothing ever seemed to change. The people, the animals - they were constant. He needed something new, something to sing about to his people. Tenor returned to the surface, propping his arms up on the edge of the port. He glanced back down at his own reflection in the water and adjusted his hair. He winked at himself before returning his gaze to the mouth breathers.

He just needed one. One person to tell him a story. One person to act as his muse.
