At least, it had only involved speaking to her family, their friends, making deals and begging in near equal measure, instead of backbreaking labour that she wasn’t accustomed to. A basket is an easier, more familiar burden to bear, filled with a different kind of Halovian bounty. Foraged fungi and berries, fresh made goats cheese, salted meats and fermented fish. All the ways the land took care of them, displayed in a well organized obviousness.
While she might not have the same kind of attuned strength as Chulane did, her burden was smaller, easier to bear. ”Do you think we have enough?” She asks softly, her worried countenance more focused on her kid than the other mans.
