Kalt rode with the hood of his uniform down, Kysma’s hooves lifting out of the snow with each step, a feeling of annoyance that Kalt could sense in her. He rode bareback on the black unicorn, and she moved with the smoothest gait that he had ever experienced from an equine. Everyday with her was magical, and he was eternally grateful for her companionship.

He had heard from the natives about the Longnight, and one of the things he was told was about the special breed of reindeer with glowing antlers. He was beginning to think nothing was impossible in this world.

The man had his guitar in his lap as he rode, gently strumming to a tune motivated by whatever it was he was feeling. He had never bothered to learn how to read music, so everything he did on his guitar was entirely motivated by his own emotions and thoughts. He enjoyed his music, so when he heard that a way to lure luxere was to sing, he was elated.

A slow song lived on his lips in a language no one from this world would understand. It was a lullaby he had heard a mother sing to her infant in a foreign land during a contract, and for whatever reason, it stayed with him. Perhaps it was the purity of the action... He didn’t know.

He drew closer to the luxere herd and dismounted from the unicorns back, settling on a fallen tree with Kysma trotting around the snow like a prancing pony. He smiled, watching a few of the luxere lift their heads with interest at the man and the mystical horse.

Any other person likely wouldn’t have heard the nearly silent steps, but having trained with bloodfiends - or Ascended, as they were called in this world - in Northwind and Northaven, Kalt was keenly tuned into the way they moved. He didn’t turn or make any kind of movement to let on that he was aware, waiting for whoever it was that was there to make their appearance.
