It was a turn of events he had not expected, and he blinked, then laughed as the fox dropped down, looking too pleased for its own good. "I suppose I deserved that," he said after a moment, rubbing his hands together to get some warmth back into them before pulling on his mittens again.
The fox's glance at Talys didn't go unnoticed, and the man heaved a small sigh. It was time to go home. "I should be going, yeah..." he said, a regret he couldn't be bothered to hide sneaking into his voice. With a sigh he unhitched Talys, and then bent down to offer the fox some cheek and ear scratches before swinging himself into the saddle. Wiping the last of the frozen tears from his lashes he looked down at the white creature, a crooked smile spreading on his face. "I'm sure Talys wouldn't mind if you want to catch a ride for a while," he offered, affectionately stroking the pony's black, warm shoulder.
