and now we're breeding a feeling of animosity
Aisha rolled her eyes, very openly mocking a gesture he so often replied to her with and giving a low grumble to his sarcasm. There was so much hope, so much promise in her heart for the future. She could feel it start to form, the pieces that would forge her adventure. Nomadic tendencies and restless spirit, tired and trodden back to the city in the snow. It felt clear, fresh, exciting.
And a friend was by her side. One of her closest. He might not know it, for she so desperately clung to the armor that sheltered her heart, but he meant something far deeper to her than most of the people she'd met in this realm. He consistently changed the way she thought, the way she felt, he'd make her feel safe and wanted and happy and he'd do it with a roll of his eyes.
There was no coherent expression of this in her mind, just solace as they walked through a new world, enclosed by ice and tundra. There was a welcome difference in temperature within the walls than without, as if the warmth from the buildings bled out from their pores; chimneys and windows and doors, even walls. The citadel was built to be a hearth in and of itself. Deimos pointed out the palace to her, but it'd already tempted her with it's crystalline skin.
It was beautiful, as a diamond was. "It's amazing," she murmured, drawing her hazel gaze over the icy spires. "Who lives there?" she asked as she started closer towards it and it's surrounding structures. She didn't know much about the governing body of Halo, but she knew Deimos was a functioning facet. He'd have more to tell.
