For all Sunjata knows, Jack’s choked on the cigarette, evident by the way he curses and leans forward to put it out. Sunjata still draws from his, though, scanning the captain to make sure he’s still alright — despite the migraine, of course. But he listens as his thoughts drift further to the cold dark world of Korofi, to rain washed streets and cars and tall skyscraper like buildings. He pushes them away only for them to return later when Jack’s suggesting Nate’s help.
He mulls it over, a slow nod given, before a hand reaches up to rub at his neck. “I don’t know. Treatment, I guess. Losing one's mind doesn’t exactly fall in my family’s history.” He informs Jack, chewing on the inside of his cheek. No, his family had always been sharp as could be even until the end. “I’m going to focus on making sure we get the barrier prepped before Longnight. Until then, just trying to stay out of trouble.” The last thing he needed was other people finding out, what trust they had in him gone with the realization.
And that saddening thought has his mind drifting back to that one particular building down Korofi’s main avenue, one of the tallest and overlooking an alley, one Sunjata had spent much time contemplating on. But he pushes that thought away quickly as well, already feeling somewhat unsteady.
