It’s entirely new, the way she can’t feel Deimos as much but can feel her emotions tenfold. It had taken some time, to get him to realize that it wasn’t a joke, that she was here, the emotions and fire tempered for a walk back to the Barracks, through the snow, through the alleys of Halo that both seemed familiar and yet… Not.
“How long have I been gone?” She asks, her vibrant blue gaze flickering over to Deimos – unable to keep her arm from being unwrapped around his own, giving him her presence as long as she could. Her voice is hoarse but it doesn’t hurt. There’s no pain associated with this body. Part of it feels like a blessing, part of it doesn’t.
It’s all confusing. But it was something she had asked for. She had picked this. She had chosen to do this to come back to see them all, to continue her life in all the ways she hadn’t before.
