It wouldn’t be a world she’d fallen into without those wrenches thrown into plans. “Then what happened?” She asks, keeping her hands within the confines of his own, letting her eyes focus on his face, unblinking and watchful, waiting for the inevitable destruction of it all.
Still, she can't keep her eyes away from the ghosting of a smile on his face, how it remains rather than disappears. And for that simple miracle, she's happy.
