She’d sought him out earlier and they’d agreed to meet tonight. But what Milo hadn’t been expecting were the work he’d been doing on the docks to be so difficult. Nets and ropes were so incredibly time consuming that he’s barely had time to get back and shower and take a look at himself before she’s stepping through the door. But he’s managed to get out of the shower, hair still dripping wet when he hears her call from down below.
“’m upstairs!” He calls down toward her, drying off a bit more and throwing on clean pair of pants, his arms covered in a few rope burns that are splotchy and red along his arms that he’d been trying to fix when she’d arrived. But he disbands it now, slipping toward the entrance of the ladder, deciding last minute that maybe he should be making it an actual staircase one day, before he steps away to make room for her to climb it.
Once she’s upstairs, he flashes her a wide grin. “Sorry ‘m not all put tog’ther. Was a tougher job than I expected.” A shrug is granted, a huff of a laugh, but he aims to reach out and relieve her of her pack to bring her toward the newly made main room in the hallway up above.
