"Oh, OK." Cam took the basket and followed the innkeeper nervously. They could tell, of course, that the woman was pissed, and that made them want to run away and hide instead of continuing to follow and interact with her -- but she'd asked them to stay, so they'd stick around rather than face her wrath back at the inn. It wasn't like they could escape her.
They'd try to be a little less clumsy this time. They could only imagine what hell this woman would rain on them if they dropped the fish again, so they clutched the basket tightly.
"Um, what are you thinking for dinner tonight?" they asked, just trying to make conversation -- they didn't really care whether she told them.
