Adam closed his eyes as the hair was brushed away from his face, the simple contact comforting; after the heavy blows and claws of Longnight fights, it was sometimes hard to remember that touch could be kind. He listened to her talk, glad for something to focus on, his fingers tapping out random little rhythms on his chest until he huffed a quiet laugh. "I'd give anything for boring right now. Surprised though. I thought this time of year would be a boom for the business."
Maybe people were different in Caido than his old world, he supposed, but there any time there was downtime, or some kind of disaster people needed an escape from...well, he'd make a lot of money. "Are you from here, or somewhere else?" Adam asked, looking up at Maeve and trying to see if he could tell by observing, but he couldn't. "I...landed here a couple years ago, now." Then missed a year by being dead, but he left out that detail for now.
