Hearing she was perfect in Anju's eyes, Mildew grinned and faked a little curtsey. She knew it was unlikely everyone in the city would have the same opinions, but it was good to see that some still had good taste and sense. There were very few manmade accessories that could match the beauty of nature, after all.
Giggling at Riya's excited bounding in the branches, Mildew only shrugged at Anju's explanation. "Just as with living people, you can tell them to go away if they won't. Mostly, I've found they listen to that. Most don't expect to just be told to leave." She laughed after this, apparently not concerned about whether it was rude. "Hmm. How do you think people become ghosts, though? They must miss out on Mort's love? Doesn't that possibility scare you? It's a consequence of death and that can be all we know for certain."
