And then she listened again, to his choices, to his options, to the way Vai had been mauled – and Melita thought that she should’ve gone and checked on the woman too, but after everything it’d been too much and too soon and then the house had been on fire –
“That sounds like a great idea,” she murmured instead – because it was a starting point.
