Even when it moves, when it dives, her eyes are on it. Even when a screech echoes in her head, she can’t tear her gaze away. Leave him alone? Leave who? she wonders briefly, before it all seems to explode in their faces. Then it’s gone and she’s left wondering again, who the thing was talking about - and what exactly that thing was.
