Morning hours spent along the docks, amidst the crew, provided the ample distraction from any issues going on at home (which seemed to now be a default measure – in between shitty fathers, burnt ruins, and some deals involving goddesses). For the most part, they were peaceful and liberating, maneuvering supplies and portions around, joking with fellow Ark members, trading stupid boasts and pondering whether it’d be worth it to be drunk before noon.
Except something was off today – as she wandered upwards and along planks, listening to a telltale splash from beyond the ship, that should’ve signaled and signified. It didn’t though; Melita either too deterred or preoccupied by other tasks to pay it much heed. Until others began shouting and hollering, and she lifted her head from the cannons she’d been cleaning – and her gilded gaze caught the noticeable efforts of some strange individuals wading their way through the water –

She sprang instantly, makeshift drawing her bow, snagging at her quiver – debating on which elemental arrow to utilize – while shouting likely the only warning they’d receive. “Hey, you fuckers!” The shout was emboldened, and so was the icy armament to follow.
